Brother Olympics

John and Shannon Baldridge organized the First Annual Brothers Olympics. The event was held at the Fox and Hound McKnight Road Pittsburgh, PA on August 29th, 2010. Ticket price included games, drink specials, appetizers and prizes. All proceeds went to benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. This event was inspired by their mother, Eileen Baldridge, who has been battling the disease since they were young children. Eileen was happy to attend and brought other members of the MS Society to help with the day's activities.

Our Goal

The goal of the event was to raise money and awareness for the MS Society. John and Shannon wanted to create something for people who usually wouldn’t attend MS Society events. Inspired by their own competitive sibling rivalry, these brothers sought out other sets of brothers to form an “Olympics.” Teams registered in pairs where they competed head-to-head in three rigorous categories; Billiards, Darts and Shuffleboard. All teams were required to wear a unique team uniform and an additional prize was given for most creative team uniform.

Win Win

Gold, Silver and Bronze medals were graciously donated by Balfour Pittsburgh and were given to first, second and third place teams. Manly unique prizes were donated, including hand crafted furniture, fine art photography, bar glassware plus many gift certificates from local bars and restaurants.

Overall, the first Brothers Olympics was a great success. The Baldridge brothers were able to raise over $1,000 that they presented to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
